Bally started lively in the first quarter with Jack Cross banging in a hatrick of goals and Paul Martin slotting two well taken points. In the second quarter bally picked up where they left off and goal from the boot of Dan Owens followed by a monster point from Paul Martin saw bally leading 4:03 to 0:07 at half time. Conor Mccarthy and Paul Martin again slotted some lovely points before conor Mccarthy rattled the onion sack from a penalty kick. this was quickly followed by goals from Eoighan O'Neill and Micheal Martin to leave bally victorious on a scoreline of 6:06 to 0:08. A special mention to John Casey in goals who made a wonder save in the first half followed by a penalty save at the end to keep his clean sheet intact. This victory leaves us top of group 2.

Sympathies: The club wish to mark the passing of Dave Garvey who died last week. He was truly a great and very knowledgeable GAA man and lifelong supporter of all Limerick teams. A native of Caherelly he played for Ballybricken for many years. During this time the Junior hurling knockout championship had a large number of teams competing in the grade. The club did have a lot of success in Tournaments winning a number of finals at a time when these were very competitive and well supported games. He was also selected to play for the East senior hurling divisional team Geraldines in the county championship. After trying for a long time he was a member of the Ballybricken team that won the East Junior A hurling championship for the first time in 1975 defeating Ahane in the final on a memorable day in Caherconlish. Dave played half forward and was the most senior member on the team. Before he retired he had the unique distinction of playing a junior hurling game with 3 of his sons. After his playing career ended he continued to be involved with the club for a number of years. He was an officer and team selector along with participating on stage at Scor. To his sons Dave, Liam, Andy and PJ along with his daughters Frances and Marie and their families, we extend our sympathies. We acknowledge and fondly remember the outstanding service your Dad gave to the club. A big thank you to all the club members and of course his former teammates that attended and took part in the guard of honour at Dave's funeral. It was a mark of the esteem in which he was held. May he rest in peace.

The could sends their deepest sympathies to Flan O'Neill and family on the recent death of his wife Noreen. may she rest in peace.

Kind regards
