Junior B hurling: Bally played the east junior b semi final on Friday last against Murroe Boher losing out 1-15 to 0-11 in an exciting and close contest. Played in Caherconlish we got off to an excellent start with the dangerous looking Larry Browne getting the game’s first two scores our next four scores came from the impressive Alan O Riordan both form play and placed balls. Our defence was working hard to keep our opponents at bay but we trailed at the break 0-9 to 0-6 with the game was very much in the balance as the second half got under way. Our opponents struck first but we got the next three scores two placed balls and Joseph Teefy from play, now we were trailing by one going into the final ten minuets but we could not bridge the gap and Murroe pulled away in injury time to record the win. It was an excellent encounter and a brilliant showing throughout the season from our lads who had a good mixture of youth and experience, within the region of 30 players togging throughout the year and 22 togged on the night. Well done to all players and management Joseph Riordan, Gerald Mitchell, Nick Greene, Charlie O Neill and Matt Mitchell (statman). Team from John Hanly, David O Neill, Eoin Lyons, Sean Browne, Cathal O Neill, Alan O Riordan, Eoin Frawley, David Ryan, Gearoid Mitchell, Danny Garry, Dennis Stack, Adam McCarthy, Tommy Carroll, Larry Browne, Jamie O Donoughe, Joseph Teefy, Cillian O Brian, Darragh Hogan, Adrian Lennon, Kevin McCarthy, Dylan Conway, Caimin Browne.

Junior A football: We played the third round of the junior a football championship on Sunday last against Bruree in neighbouring Fedamore pitch. With just the 15 players available things were going to be a struggle and so it proved to be with us losing on a score line 3-10 to 2-09 . The game had started ok for us with Daniel Owens, Colm Teefy and Dennis Stack getting points to leave us three all after the opening quarter. We picked up an injury in defence as Matt Mitchell and our keeper Ciaran McCarthy collided, soon after we conceded a goal leaving us trailing 1-07 to 0-6 at the break. We rallied after the break and when Matt Mitchell struck to the net the teams were level with 15 remaining, we conceded another goal after Bruree converted their second penalty but again the inspired Matt Mitchell finished to net leaving us behind by one. In the closing 5 minutes however we conceded a third goal and could not mount another come back and with temperatures boiling over the only referee with a whistle on the day blew up for full time. Team from Ciaran McCarthy, Hugh Leonard, Matt Mitchell, Mark O Dea, Owen O Neill, Patrick Byrnes, John Stack, Alan O Riordan, Niall Mitchell, Adam Shire, Dennis Stack, Colm Teefy, Tommy Carroll, John Casey, Daniel Owens.
