Club News week commencing Sept 3rd 2018

Minor: Kilpeacon a combination of Bally Fedamore and Crecora bowed out of the premier minor competition with a  loss to Garryspillane on a score line of 1-22 to 0-20. In a highly entertaining game Kilpeacon started well and led with a couple of scores from the impressive Cathal O Neil we added to our total with scores from Ballys Daniel Owens and Michael Martin but trailed at half time 0-13 to 0-12. Kilpeacon again were fast out of the blocks in the second half and got three points in a row to re-take the lead by two. In a very tight contest margins were tight and an overturned decision led to a goal for Garryspillane while at the other end we had a disallowed goal which stalled our comeback. In the end Garryspillane ran out worthy winners by 5 points an excellent display from our lads which marked the end of the road for this championship. Team from Rory Hannon, Padraig Byrnes, Patrick Byrnes (BB), Thomas Shanahan, Cian Enright, Niall Mitchell (BB), Colin Haigney, Daniel Owens (BB), ,Donnacha Connolly, Michael Martin (BB), Cathal O Neill, Brendan Power, Shane O Connor , Ciaran Humphries, Ciaran Kennedy, Darragh O Keefe, Jack Dalton, Darragh Hogan (BB) Fergal Egan, John Bourke, Sam Riordan. Well done to selectors Pat Byrnes, John Power, Paul Conheady, Gerry Maloney, Isaac O Callaghan, Jimmy Martin and Colm Teefy for their hard work during the season.
