Club News week commencing August 13th 2018


JUNIOR A: On 12/8/2018 Ballybricken/Bohermore Junior As travelled to Cappamore to play Kilteely/Dromkeen in the semi-final of the East Junior A hurling championship.  From a Bally perspective this proved to be a good display in what was a well contested game. Bally scored the first five points, but Kilteely/Dromkeen replied with a brace of  points. After the first quarter Bally led 0-6 to 0-2. In the second Quarter, Kilteely Dromkeen came more into the game, outscoring us by 3 points to 1. Half time score: Bally 0-7  Kilteely/Dromkeen 0-5. In the second half Kilteely/Dromkeen exerted some dominance, and in the 3rd quarter scored 7 points to lead 0-12 to 0-10 going into the final quarter. Four points were shared by both teams at the start of the final quarter, before a Conal Ryan goal put Bally a point to the good, with Conor McCarthy scoring a free to put 2 points between the sides at the final whistle.  Final Score: Ballybricken/Bohermore 1-13 Kilteely/Dromkeen 0-14.Team lined out as follows:  1. MINOR HURLING: Our minor team playing under the name Kilpeacon made up of Ballybricken/Bohermore, Fedamroe and Crecora lost out to Na Piarsaigh by 4-17 to 3-9. In a free scoring match the opponents got on top around the middle early and found scores easier to come by and led at half-time 1-10 to 1-03.  We started the second half well and an excellent Michael Martin goal kept us in touch. Na Piarsaigh were the more balanced team and kept the scoreboard ticking with a late Daniel Owens proving the highlight of the last quarter. Togged on the night from Ballybricken/Bohermore were Patrick Byrnes, Michael Martin, Niall Mitchell, Daniel Owens and Ryan Hickey.
