Club News week commencing July 2nd 2018

Junior A: On 1/7/2018 Ballybricken/Bohermore Junior As travelled to Cappamore to play Ahane in the East Junior A hurling Championship.  From a Bally perspective this proved to be a good display in what was a well contested game. The teams were level at 0-4 each after the first quarter with both sides feeling each other out and scores hard to come by. The second quarter went the same as the first, with the teams level at 0-9 apiece at the interval. In the second half, Bally started the better, but continued to struggle to get scores against a 14 man Ahane and entered the final quarter leading by a solitary point, 0-13 to 0-12. However, in the final quarter, we pushed on and, with the help of a Conal Ryan goal, we finished the game as winners on a final score line of: Ballybricken/Bohermore 1-22, Ahane 2-14.Team lined out as follows:  1. Joseph Teefy, 2. Seán Browne, 3. Eoin Lyons , 4. John Stack, 5. Mark O Dea, 6. Michael Wilkinson , 7. Niall Mitchell. 8. Alan O Riordan, 9. Conor McCarthy, 10. Enda Frawley, 11. Sean Teefy, 12. Club Notice and Fixtures: Limerick minors were beaten in the Munster final last Sunday in Thurles, Ballybricken/Bohermore were represented by Michael Martin and Patrick Byrnes who were togged out for Limerick an excellent endorsement for the fine work being done at underage level at the club. Michael came in as a second half substitute and contributed well but Tipperary were the better team on the day, Limerick now progress to a round robin with Kilkenny and Galway who are the next opponents this weekend. The last round of the east league championship is down for this weekend against Doon please see club text and leader sport for exact fixture. Sympathies to Gerald Mitchell and family on the death of his mother Mrs Cerina Mitchell RIP.
