Club news week commencing Sept 21st

Junior B Footballers  played Fedamore in the Junior B East county final on Sat evening last in Fedamore. This was a very even contest throughout and tight marking from both sides resulted in a low scoring game. Fedamore got the first point and Bally responded with a point from Michael Wilkinson. After been reduced to 14 players, Fedamore caught Bally off guard when a short range free ended in the back of the net. Bally had a number of chances at goal also but did not come off on the night and the goal remained the difference between the sides at the interval on a 1-2 to 0-2 scoreline. The second half was again low scoring but Bally got back to within a point with 10 minutes remaining through Michael Wilkinson converted free’s, but Fedamore responded with a point again leaving 2 between the sides. Bally dominated play as the game came to a close but Fedamore’s defence held strong and denied Bally the goal the desperately needed to take the lead. In the end Fedamore held their 2 point lead till the final whistle blew, final score 1-5 to 0-6. Fedamore were presented with the cup by Bernard Grene on behalf of the East Board. U16 Footballers: Well done to our U16 footballers who beat Kilteely on Sunday morning last in awful weather conditions to qualify for the County final and will be playing Rathkeale, date and venue to be decided.

U14 Hurlers: Well done also to our U14 Hurlers who play with Kilteely as Naomh Brid and beat St. Kierans recently and will now meet Bruff in the Shield final, date and venue to be decided.
