Junior A Hurlers  played Ahane in the East Championship semi-final on Sat evening last in Cappamore in what was a knockout game a win would secure a place in the East Final and guarantee at least a county quarter final place. Bally started well but Ahane were first to register scores but they lads worked hard and perhaps a bit unfortunate to be 4 points down at half time. Bally started the second half well and narrowed the gap to 2 points , thereafter both sides exchanges points and a high ball into Michael Wilkinson was well dispatched to Colm Teefy who struck a well finished goal. That put Bally ahead but Ahane upped their game but Bally dug even deeper to deny Ahane the scores they needed. Bally were then awarded a penalty which Michael Wilkinson finished in the right bottom corner of the net. Bally’s continuous hard work was further rewarded with a few more points and in the end Bally came away with a deserved win on a final score of 2-14 to 1-12. An excellent team performance and well done to all involved. Bally now meet Doon in the East Final (Venue and time TBC): Team: Pat Mc Elligott, Alan O’ Riordan, John Mc Elligott, Sean Browne, Paul Martin, Eoin Lyons, Darragh Martin, Gearoid Mitchell, Mark O’Dea, Daniel McGuire, Michael Wilkinson, Liam O’ Rourke, Colm Teefy, John Casey, Enda Frawley, Conor McCarthy.

Minor Hurlers:  Our minor hurlers played South Liberties on Sun eve last in south Liberties in what turned out to be an excellent game of hurling and a very even contest. South liberties made the brighter start scoring 1-2 before Bally registered our first scores. Conor Mc Carthy was in fine form and converted most the awarded free’s . At half time the score was 1-6 to 0-6 to South Liberties. South Liberties then put over 2 points early in the second half and went 5 up, however again through a combination of placed balls and points from play, Conor McCarty added another 6 points to his tally and edged Bally ahead by a single point. South Liberties responded to draw the sides level before Dylan Conway struck the back of the net and gave Bally a 3 point cushion as we moved towards the last minutes of play. The lead was unfortunately short lived and a late surge by South Liberties resulted in their second goal and followed by a point which put the game beyond Bally’s reach before the final whistle blew. Final score of 1-12 to 2-13 to South Liberties.
