Junior B footballers played Kildimo-Pallaskenry
in the County Championship on Sunday last in Claughan. Kildimo-Pallaskenry
opted to play with the wind in the first half putting Bally’s backs under
significant pressure for prolonged periods. Bally defended superbly and managed
to keep Kildimo-Pallaskenry scoreless for the first 15 minutes.
Kildimo-Pallaskenry however then started to edge ahead scoring 0-7 in the first
half taking advantage of the elements and keeping Bally scoreless. Kildimo did
not allow Bally take advantage of the elements in the second half and
registered the first point of the half after 5 minutes and this was followed by
a goal building their lead to 11 points. Despite been reduced to 14 players
Bally never gave up and Conal Ryan (0-1), Liam O’Rourke (0-1) and Michael
Wilkinson (0-2) got 4 well finished points and denied a goal when a well struck
shot from Colm Teefy was well saved by the Kildimo keeper. In the end it was
not to be Bally’s day and Kildimo Pallaskenry came away as County Champions on
a final score of 1-12 to 0-4. That finishes what was an excellent year for
Ballybricken Bohermore Junior B footballers and an excellent platform to build
from as we move into 2015. The club would like to thanks all the players,
selectors and coaches for all their hard work and achievement of getting to the
County Championship final.
