Junior B footballers played Knockane again last
weekend but with a place in the County East JBFC final at stake on this
occasion. Despite playing against the breeze in the first half Bally got off to
the better start with points from William Hanley, Michael Wilkinson and a well
finished goal from Conal Ryan. Knockane first point was quickly countered with
a point from Denis Stack but Knockane battled hard and responded with another
point. Bally’ defense held firm and limited Knockane’s opportunities. Darragh
Martin and William in midfield kept a steady flow of ball to the forwards and
rewarded with a second goal from Conal Ryan and a point from Paul Martin. The
half time score was 2-4 to 0-3 in Bally’s favor. Knockane the upped their game
in the second half and got a goal early on to narrow the margin to 4 points.
Bally however worked hard to limit Knockane opportunities and responded with
points from Conal Ryan (0-2) and Michael (0-1).. In the end the final score was
2-7 to 1-4 in Bally’s favor and good overall team performance leaves Bally are
