Intermediate Hurlers:  please come along and support our Intermediate hurlers when they play Caherline in the Intermediate Relegation Final on Sunday next Sept 16th in Hospital at  12 noon.U14 Hurlers  played Cois Le Gaels in the County Championship final on Friday evening last. Having already beaten and secured the league title against Cois Le Gaels back in June, the ultimate end to the year would be to secure the double. However it was Cois Le Gaels that got out of the blocks faster and got off to the ideal start scoring 6 points from play and free’s before Bally registered our first points mid-way into the half when Conor Garvey converted 2 frees in close succession. Bally then started to get into the game, Geroid Mitchell put over a well taken point from play before a few minutes later before  Cois le Gaels converted another free.. The final score of the half came from Niall Mitchell leaving the score-line  0-7 to 0-4 in favor of Cois Le Gaels at the interval.. Bally dominated possession in the second half and Dylan Conway was superb in Goals keeping a clean sheet and with our whole back line working extremely hard we managed to keep Cois le Gaels scoreless for the entire second half.. Upfront Conor Garvey kept narrowing the margin with another point from play early in the half and converted another free leaving Bally trail by a single point with about 5 minutes remaining. Unfortunate not to convert an number of long range free opportunities we battled in search a score to level or win the match.. We thought we got that reward in the dying minutes with the premature celebration of the ball crossing the line following a skirmish in and around the square, however in the end it was deemed not to be a goal by the officials and we ended losing by a single point. It was not to be in the end and the Final score was 0-7 to 0-6 in Cois Le Gaels favour. Nevertheless it was a very successful year for this talented you bunch of players having secure the league title back in June and plenty of hurling to look forward to in the coming year.Panel: Dylan Conway, Jamie Doran, Darragh Kelly, James Garvey, Adam McCarthy, Sean Teefy, Liam Nicholl, Niall Mitchell, Geroid Mitchell, Jason Cross, Eoin Kloos, Jack Owens, Conor Garvey, James Pinder, Lewis Rogers, Jack Cross, Daniel Owens, Ryan Hickey, Cillian McCarthy & Adam Shire.

U12 Hurlers, Congrats to our U12 Hurlers who played Templeglantine in the County Finals day at UL last Saturday and came away with a well-deserved win. We got off to the worst possible start when conceding an early goal but there was no panic and we soon settled into the game with fine points from Jack Cross, Patrick Byrnes, Niall Mitchell and Daniel Owens and went in level at half time looking like we had the measure of our opponents. Into the second half and we continued to exert strong pressure and were rewarded with 2 great points converted from 65’s by the rock steady Patrick Byrnes to go 2 points ahead. The game was now at a critical stage and Templeglantine started to attack the Bally goal. It was now time for the defence to step up to the mark and with James Garvey now in goals directing his defence,  Darragh Hogan, Michael Martin and Ryan Hickey all showed great spirit and  cleared some great ball which lifted the whole team. Katie O’Riordan, Ciara Ryan, Colm O’Riordan and Koby Gorvelle had been introduced at this stage to freshen up the attack but it was the youngest player on our panel Aidan Walker who got the all-important goal with a sweet ground stroke 5 minutes from time which put us 5 points clear and give us some breathing space. Templeglantine to their credit continued to attack and pointed immediately to cut the deficit to 4 points but our defence now being inspired by captain Killian O’Brien stood up to the sustained pressure for the closing minutes and we came out on top on a score line of 1-7 to 1-3 . Following the game the team was presented with their winners medals by county star James Ryan. Team – Ciara Ryan, James Garvey, Niall Mitchell, Ryan Hickey, Daniel Owens, Killian O’Brien, Jack Cross, Darragh Hogan, Patrick Byrnes, Michael Martin, Colm O’Riordan, Aidan Walker, Koby Gorvelle, Katie O’Riordan.

Our U13 hurlers We started our u13 Hurling League with a home game against Ballingarry.  We started very well in the 1st half and led at half time by 3-4 to 1-1. The next half was a lot tighter but we won out by 6-6 to 3-3. This was a good start as we had a lot of younger players making their first start at this level and all perform well. Panel Cillian O Brien, Cathal Breen, Jamie Doran, Michael Martin, James Garvey, Sean Teefy, Lewis Rogers, James Pinder, Niall Mitchell, Jack Cross, Adam McCarthy, Daniel Owens, Darragh Hogan, Cillian McCarthy, Ryan Hickey.
