Please come along and support our U14 Hurlers when they play Cois Le Gaels in the County Championship final this Friday night in Hospital at 6.30pm.
U12 Hurlers played Doon on Tue Aug 21st away in the league and in what was a great game of hurling that went down to the wire and we were a little unlucky to come away losing by 2 points, final score 6-4 to 5-5. On Tuesday Aug 28th we played Murroe-Boher away with a very young team and gave a great account of ourselves in what were very testing conditions and ended up losing by 4 points at the finish. The highlight of the game was the skill that Ciara Ryan displayed when flicking an overhead shot to the Doon net which was worthy of any occasion.
The highlight of our year to date was our trip to Mullinahone on Saturday August 24th to represent Limerick in their All Ireland hurling tournament. We had a great day out and in our group matches we played teams from Derry, Monaghan and Galway with a win, a loss and a draw. Following the group stage we were drawn to play against Clare in our semi-final. In what was a thrilling game of hurling the game ended in a draw after we showed great spirit to come from 3 points down at half time and were a little unlucky with some our shooting and refereeing decisions in the second half. Unfortunately for Bally we lost out on the opportunity to take part in the final on scoring difference only but well done to all the squad as this was a fantastic squad effort and every one merits the same praise for their great efforts. Squad:Adam McCarthy,Killian McCarthy,James Pinde,Jamie Doran,James Garvey,Niall Mitchell,Daniel Owens,Cillian O’Brien, Jack Cross,Ciara Ryan,Ryan Hickey,Darragh Hogan,Matthew Pinder,Cathal Breen,Michael Martin,James Martin,Patrick Byrne, Colm O’Riordan,Luke Buckley,Aidan Walker,Sean Teefy,Adam Shire.
