Intermediate Hurlers draw with Knockaderry in County Intermediate Championship..

Intermediate Hurlers played Knockaderry in the County Intermediate Championship last Friday evening Aug 3rd in Kilfinane in poor weather conditions. Bally got off to a good start getting the first scores with Michael Wilkinson converting a free, followed with a point from play before Knockaderry registered their first scores and both sides were level about 10 minutes into the half. Bally then unfortunate to lose Mark McGuire through injury moved Enda Frawley to Midfield and John Stack came in to replace Enda in the forwards. Both sides then exchanged points with Michael Wilkinson registering another 2 points for Bally but Knockaderry racked up 5 more points and a well taken point from Enda Frawley left the scoreline 0-7 to 0-5 in Knockaderry’s favor at the interval. Knockaderry were awarded a penalty early in the second half but Bally’s defense held stong and cleared their lines and then upped their performance and a well taken point from Paul Martin and a converted free from Michael Wilkinson saw the sides draw level mid-way into the half. Knockaderry then registered 2 more points which were countered with a free from Michael Wilkenson and long distance free from Pat McElligott leaving both sides level again with 5 mins to play. Bally perhaps unlucky not to convert another long distance free late into the match left the scoreline level at full time 0-9 to 0-9.
