Club News week commencing April 9th


Intermediate Hurlers played Pallasgreen last Saturday afternoon April 7th in the first round of the county league and after a good start we lead at half time by a single point. The second half was more competitive the hurling was tough but fair throughout. Heading into the last quarter, we lead by 2 points but our lads tired in the last fifteen minutes and Pallas finished the stronger. We were unlucky not to get at least a draw from this game but it was a solid performance from a very young team and it finished on a score line of 1-9 to 11 points. Best on the day were John Mc Elligott, Paul Martin, James Frawley, Darragh Martin and Enda Frawley. Team lined out as follows: P Mc Elligott, E Lyons, J Mc Elligott, S Browne, M O’ Dea, P Martin, K Ryan, M Mc Quire, J Frawley, D Lyons, D Martin, E Frawley, L O’ Rourke, L Mc Elligott, L Browne, J Teefy, J Stack, J Ryan.

Minors Hurlers (Naomh Brid) also lost to Cappamore on Friday April 6th Pallas on a scoreline of 2-6 to 1-3 despite a hearty performance from a very young side. 

U16 Footballers (Naomh Brid) Played Knockainey on Monday April 2nd in Knockainey and following a defeat to Croom the previous week, demonstrated a much improved team performance which resulted in a comprehensive win (Final score 6-7 to 1-2).

U16 Hurlers (Naomh Brid) play Caherline on Monday April 9th in Caherelly at 6.45pm. U14 Footballers play Mungret in Caherelly on Wednesday April 11th at 6.45pm.  Intermediates play Doon in the Sunday April 15th in Doon at 6.30pm. U16 Hurlers (Naomh Brid) are play away to Shamrock Gaels on Monday April 16th at 6.45pm. Junior B Hurlers play Murroe Boher on Tuesday April 17th in Caherelly at 7pm. Intermediates play Cappamore in the East Hurling championship on Thursday April 19th in Cappamore.
